Kottayam : On the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day 2025, district-level activities were jointly organized by the District Health Department, KAPS Kottayam Chapter, and the Department of Social Work, KE College, Mannanam, Kerala
The program was inaugurated on September 10, 2025 at KE College by the Hon’ble District Collector Shri. Chetan Kumar Meena IAS. The initiative aims to strengthen suicide prevention activities across all Social Work colleges in the district.
Special appreciation goes to Mr. Vineesh, NHM Consultant and Executive Member of KAPS Kottayam Chapter, for his keen interest and leadership in coordinating this program. The efforts were ably supported by Dr. Elizabeth, Head of the Social Work Department, KE College & Secretary of KAPS Kottayam, along with the dedicated staff team and Mr. Rijeesh, DMHP Psychiatric Social Worker.
The District Collector congratulated the joint initiative of the District Health Department, KAPS, and Social Work Departments as a model collaboration. Dr. Priya (DMO) expressed willingness to partner with KAPS for more mental health-related programs. Principal Aison assured continued support, including professional membership opportunities for the MSW batch alongside their convocation.
