In Association with CEVA and CCRRA

The KAPS Ernakulam Chapter, in collaboration with the Cyriac Elias Voluntary Association (CEVA) and the Centre for Constitutional Rights Research & Advocacy (CCRRA), observed Human Rights Day 2025 on 10 December 2025 through a meaningful, inclusive, and participatory gathering. The programme brought together around 150 participants, including differently-abled persons, senior citizens, women, people living with HIV, social work and management students, parents, law interns, researchers, and community volunteers—truly reflecting the spirit of “Human Rights for All”.

Inaugural Session

The event was inaugurated by Shri. B. Binu, President, Consumer Redressal Forum, Ernakulam.
Fr. Mathew Kiriyanthan, Secretary, CEVA, presided over the session.

A powerful thematic play by Social Work students set an emotional and thought-provoking tone, highlighting the realities and challenges faced by vulnerable groups in society.

Panel Sharing on Key Human Rights Themes

Following the play, the gathering moved into a dynamic panel session featuring experts and representatives from diverse sectors:

The session, enriched by lived experiences and professional insights, set the stage for deeper reflection and dialogue.

Breakout Discussions & Human Rights Manifesto

Participants took part in breakout group discussions followed by group presentations, collectively drafting a Human Rights Manifesto that captured community perspectives, rights-based concerns, and actionable recommendations. This participatory process transformed the observance into a vibrant people’s dialogue.

Valedictory Session

The day’s proceedings were moderated by Dr. M. P. Antony, State Working President, KAPS.
The valedictory address was delivered by Fr. Biju Vadakkel CMI, President of CEVA and Director, Chavara Institute of Management & Media Studies, who offered an inspiring message on human rights and social responsibility.

Dr. P. Nalini, Vice President, KAPS Ernakulam Chapter and Member, Juvenile Justice Board, delivered felicitations and appreciated the collaborative spirit of the event.
