
Thrissur : The Kerala Association of Professional Social Workers (KAPS) – Thrissur Chapter, in collaboration with Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, Kodakara, is organizing a District Conference and the observance of World Social Work Day 2026 on 16 March 2026.
The programme will be held from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Seminar Hall of Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, Kodakara, Thrissur. The event aims to bring together social work professionals, academicians, researchers, and students from across Thrissur district to engage in meaningful discussions and reflections on the role of social work in contemporary society.
The theme for World Social Work Day 2026, “Co-Building Hope & Harmony – A Harambee Call to Unite a Divided Society,” highlights the importance of collective action, unity, and shared responsibility in addressing social challenges and building inclusive communities.
The programme will be inaugurated by Dr. Asha P. Rao, former Head of the Department of Social Work at Vimala College Thrissur and one of the first members of the KAPS Thrissur Chapter. Her presence adds special significance to the event, recognizing her longstanding contributions to social work education and practice in the district.
The KAPS Thrissur Chapter warmly invites social workers, faculty members, researchers, and social work students from across Thrissur district to participate in this important gathering and join in reaffirming the shared commitment to social justice, community wellbeing, and professional solidarity.
